Animals at 7th Heaven Farm are never penned; they range freely and grow naturally.  Each animal is cared for like a domestic pet.  Our farm is small, so we are able to love and nurture our breeding stock and offspring.    We grow all-natural, pastured meats and define them as follows.

Pastured beef, lamb and goat come from ruminants that are raised on pasture (grass) and browse (brush).  A ruminant's diet should consist mainly, if not all of non-fermented (grain) forage.  For a detailed explanation on this topic please visit the American Grassfed Association at http://www.americangrassfed.org/.

Pastured animals are not raised in confinement - ever.  They are provided shelter for safety and have free access to pasture and browse.  Each animal should have enough pasture and browse to meet its daily nutritional requirement.  For a detailed explanation on this topic please visit the American Grassfed Association (address above) and the Animal Welfare Approved at http://www.animalwelfareapproved.org/

All-natural foods products come from animals that grow naturally, without growth stimulants of any kind.  Animals may be, and should be provided free access to mineral supplements 24/7.  Some animals require vitamin supplements as well.  These all-natural supplements ensure that the animal is receiving a balanced diet; thus ensuring it good, if not perfect health.  Animals may receive medication if they are sick to ensure that they do not suffer.  For a complete discussion on livestock welfare, please visit the Animal Welfare Approved site (address above).

7th Heaven Farm's beef and veal products are from all natural (no hormones or antibiotics), pastured (outside eating grass) Belted Galloway or locally grown cattle.

7th Heaven Farm raises Belted Galloway cattle.  This breed of cattle is simply delicious.  It is very tender and sweet. It does not need to hang for three weeks to taste good, nor does it require grain.  Best of all, it is naturally low in fat and cholesterol.   Government and private studies equate the nutritional content of Belted Galloway meat with that of chicken.  The meat also won the taste test in all categories: texture, taste and tenderness.

The beef cattle and veal calves graze until they are ready for harvest.  They are then processed at a USDA inspected, Animal Welfare Approved, local facility.  Each cut is individually wrapped and flash frozen. It stays fresh for at least one year.
